Dashboards
Dashboard Overview
Dashboards bring the user to a view of all dashboards existing in the selected global portfolio, where they can browse, edit, delete, or create dashboards. There is also a tab to change the grid to display all available templates, where the user can browse, edit, or delete them.
The grid tiles show important metadata about each dashboard, like each widget they contain, and the user can hover over each to read a description of them. Clicking on the dashboard name takes the user to the dashboard view.

Creating Dashboards
Dashboards can either be created from the main dashboard page or from the dropdown on the dashboard view page.
Create New Dashboard From Scratch
To create a dashboard from scratch, input a name and an optional description, then create new widgets.
Go to Dashboards Module
Open the Dashboards module in Bloomfilter and select "Create Dashboard" at the top of the page.
Input Dashboard Details
Input Name and an optional Description, then select “Create Dashboard”.
Add Widgets
Add Dashboard Widgets (See Creating/Editing Widgets section for more information).
Create Dashboard From Template
To create a dashboard from a template, select "Use a Template," enter a name, choose your desired template, and select the specific objects to use for calculating measures. Templates track the number of unique objects used across all dashboard widgets in the original dashboard and you must select which of those objects to map to your new dashboard.
Example: The Kanban Board Template includes 6 widgets connected to a single board. When creating a new dashboard from this template, select one board — the dashboard will automatically generate all 6 widgets using your selected board.
Go to Dashboards Module
Open the Dashboards module in Bloomfilter and select "Create Dashboard" at the top of the page.
Choose Template and Name
Select "Use a Template", input Dashboard Name and an optional Description. Select a Template setting and then select the Board which defines the data to be used. Then select “Create Dashboard”.
Add Widgets
Add Dashboard Widgets (See Creating/Editing Widgets section for more information).
Dashboard Widgets
Below is an example of a dashboard widget. Here you can customize the measures shown, the scope (project/board/etc. and date ranges), and the graph visualization.
At the top is metadata about the widget like name and description as well as the total and average values of the measure rendered.
You can also see your configured targets and select to have them visualized in the widget graph. If you don’t have any targets configured, clicking the + icon will auto-populate a Target modal with the corresponding metadata from the widget so the user can create new targets in a few clicks.
Creating / Editing Widgets
Widget creation takes 4 simple steps.
Add New Widget
Select "Add New Widget" from the top right of the dashboard screen.
Define Widget Scope and Measure
Define your widget along with its scope and measure.
There are 5 possible object types:
Portfolio | Project | Board | Initiative
Can select multiple objects
Available date ranges span from today, last 1 day → last 90 days
Can select a time allocation to aggregate the measures
Renders a data point for every day, week, 2 weeks, month
Sprint
Can only select the parent board of all the sprints
Date range is last 1–6 sprints; it only grabs Completed Sprints
Define Chart Type
Choose how to visualize your widget. Options:
Line Chart
Area Chart
Bar Chart
Stacked Bar Chart
Pie Chart
Table
Tile
Text (only if rendering a text measure)
You can also choose to remove the metadata from the top and the target selection for a cleaner look.
Customize Color
Customize the color of each selected object from Step 2. Example: if you select 2 teams, change the color separately for each team. For sprint objects, you can only customize the color of the selected parent board.
Adjusting Widget Layout
Enter Edit Layout
From a Dashboard view, select "Edit Layout" in the top right of your screen.
Resize Widgets
To adjust the size of any widget — click and drag any ">" on the border of the widgets to adjust height/width.
Save Layout
Select "Save Layout".

Where to Create Targets
Targets can be created from two areas in Bloomfilter:
From a Dashboard Widget by selecting "Create New Target"
From Adherence Module > "Create New Target"
Define Target Scope
Define Target Name, Object Type and Desired Objects.
Targets can be created for 5 different scopes:
Portfolio
Initiative
Team
Board
Sprint
For sprints, the target must be set for the sprint’s parent board. Sprint-level targets are applied to any sprint starting after the target start date that are members of the selected board.
Define Frequency and Dates
Define Target Frequency, Comparison Type, Target Value, Start & End Date.
Set Thresholds and Create
Set Thresholds for the Target and select "Create Target".
Viewing Targets on Widget
Using the dropdown in the top-left of a widget tile, the user can select already-created targets for the measure and scope of the widget. They can also create a new target that matches the scope of the widget by clicking the + button.
Hovering over the information tooltip in the target dropdown displays more details about the target such as its expected range and time period.
Example: This target is set to be ≥ 20 throughput each week. Since each data point on the graph does not necessarily represent a full week, the target is prorated based on the number of days represented by each point. See Target Proration for more details.
The target also has Green/Yellow/Red thresholds. Each dot on the chart corresponds to the color threshold it falls into. The tooltip for 2025-04-14 shows the true value which falls in the prorated yellow threshold.
