KPI Overview

KPI Overview: Get a quick snapshot of critical metrics—total cost, cost per task, daily spend, throughput, and committed tasks—with trend lines for at-a-glance analysis.

  • Cost: The total spend over the time period, rolled up monthly

  • Cost per Task: Total spend divided by total throughput over the time period, rolled up monthly

  • Daily Spend: The average spend per day over the time period, rolled up monthly

  • Throughput: The number of tasks completed (moved into a done status) over the time period, rolled up monthly

  • Committed Tasks: The number of tasks with statuses of ‘todo’ or ‘doing’ over the time period, rolled up monthly


Cost vs. Output Chart

What It Shows: Tracks financial and performance metrics like total cost, daily spend, cost per task, velocity, and throughput over time.

Why It Helps:

  • See how spending correlates with team output to ensure you’re getting the most value from your budget.

  • Spot trends, like rising costs or slowing progress, to make timely adjustments.

  • Perfect for project managers balancing delivery goals with financial constraints.

Use Case: Optimize team efficiency by identifying high-cost, low-output areas and reallocating resources effectively.

Filters: The options available for selection in the side-filter are a standard set of unchangeable metrics:

  • Cost

  • Daily Burn

  • Cost per Point

Allocation of Costs Chart

What It Shows: Breaks down spending by task attributes, such as epic, sprint, assignee, priority, or label.

Cost by Initiative Chart

What It Shows: Visualizes spending across high-level initiatives for a strategic view of resource allocation.

  • Monitor initiative-level costs to make informed decisions about resource allocation.

  • Gain a clear, top-down perspective to support portfolio-wide planning.

How To Add Financials For The First Time

Select Portfolio

Select your portfolio.

Open Financials Module and Add Financial Data

Go to Financials Module and select Add Financial Data.

Choose Method and Parameters

Select to add Financials by Date or by Sprint. Select Year, Select Team and click Add.

Enter Monthly Financial Data

Add in Financial data for each month and click Save.

Repeat for Additional Teams or Sprints

Repeat steps for any additional teams or sprints and click Save.


How To Edit Existing Financial Data

Select Portfolio

Open Financials Module and Edit Financial Data

Go to Financials Module and select Edit Financial Data in the top right of the screen.

Edit or Add Financial Data

Edit existing financial data or enter new financial data.

Save Changes

Select Save Changes.
